The linear drive motor found in the 12-40mm f2.8 PRO is Movie and Still Compatible (MSC) and provides fast, nearly silent focusing and aperture performance, a must-have for any videographer.
Manual Focus Clutch
Located on the focus ring, the Manual Focus Clutch enables you to switch instantly between auto and manual focus. You can also preset a particular focus position (using the easy-to-read distance meter), and by pulling the ring toward you, return instantly to that position from AF mode.
Close Focusing Distance
The M.Zuiko ED 12-40mm f2.8 PRO can focus as close as 2.75 inch at the telephoto end of the focal range, and 7.9 inch at all focal lengths, further adding to the versatility of this lens.
Stabilized Hand-Held Performance
Paired with the advanced in-body image stabilization of the Olympus OM-D and PEN series of cameras, this extremely bright f2.8 lens allows you to shoot longer hand-held exposures without a tripod.
